1. What is INFOMATRIX? INFOMATRIX is an international computer projects competition, organized yearly in Romania.
2. How many INFOMATRIX competitions have been organized until now? The first edition of the contest was held in 2002, and this year we are organizing the 5th one.
3. For who is this contest designed? Starting with this year InfoMatrix is divided into two sections one for the high school students aged 12-18 from all over the world and particularly for the Romanian secondary schools and high schools with four categories : Digital Content, Programming, Computer Art and Hardware Control and the other section for university students : Programming, Computer Art and Hardware Control.
4. What is the aim of INFOMATRIX? In order to contribute to the development of informatics and facilitate intercultural dialogue and cooperation, the INFOMATRIX competition aims to promote excellence in this domain, by encouraging the creativity and the passion for knowledge of the students. It also offers IT companies the possibility to over take and reward the best projects.
5. Who initiated this contest? S.C. Lumina Educational Institutions S.A. - a group of private educational institutions that is active since 1994 in the field of pre-academic education, covering all levels of education from kindergarten to high school. The Institution’s schools are:

11. What are the sections of The International Computer Competition INFOMATRIX 2007?
- Digital Content Theme: "Perfect School" opened only for high school students. Anything promoting "Perfect School": posters, documents, websites, fliers and so on! Prove your ability to use Presentation softwares, Office Applications, HTML editors, Image editing or the like! Show that you have outstanding creativity!
- Programming: Create a computer program compatible with the Microsoft(r) Windows(c) operating system (i.e. School Management System). You may use any programming language you wish (Visual C++, Delphi, JAVA, PHP, ASP, etc).
- Computer Art: Create 2D/3D images, animations or computer videos! 3DSMax, Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, Bryce or any digital imaging product may be used as developing platform.
- Hardware Control: Create software controlling or cooperating with an electronic/mechanic device (i.e. Security Camera, Remote Controlled Car etc).
12. How many projects registered in 2005 and 2006 at INFOMATRIX competition? In 2005 there were 201 projects and in 2006 there were 313 projects

1. Digital Content
“Detox” – a project containing a brochure 'Detox', posters and DVDs realized with talent, combining elements from African culture with the message of anti-drug theme.
2. Programming
“Virtual School Studio”– a virtual school with chat for the students, forum for the dialogue between students and teachers, a place where they can store commune things (photos, animations, folders), an online library, softs that can be downloaded and used by students, a program of testing the knowledge of the students are only some parts of the project.
3. Computer Art
“The film project” – nine minutes of special effects from the Hollywood world realized in some places from Constanta that has not only good special effects, also has a very good SF story and good actors.
4. Hardware Control
“Advanced Security Center”– a complex security system that detects the human presence in the house area using some motion sensors.

1. Desktop Publishing
RoOp” (Romanian Opportunities) – a project that promotes Romania in a non-conventional way that gives business men the opportunity to find out more about the potential of the young Romanians.
2. Programming
QuizYou!” – an application for tests with more than one answer used in schools all over the world.
3. Art Computer
3D Art Museums” – a virtual museum that can be visited at home, having a nice musical background. The Greek Parthenon or the Pyramids can be reached in only few seconds. More than that, we can compose our own museum by adding our favorite pieces of art.
4. Design and use of a control system
DWS” (Digital Weather Station) - a highly monitoring system design to register the ski conditions that a certain ski resort offers in winter.
